Description

We’re looking for a strategic, dedicated and passionate individual to serve as our Board Chair.

At 54North Homes, we own and manage more than 4,000 homes throughout Yorkshire.

We believe in providing high quality, affordable homes that are safe, warm and secure and in supporting our customers to live well in their communities. We put customers at the heart of everything that we do and strive to provide an excellent level of service. This extends beyond the bricks and mortar of our homes to empowering our customers and working in partnership to offer a range of other services, from training to financial support.

In addition to investing in our existing homes, we have an ambitious development programme and will provide hundreds of new sustainable homes throughout Yorkshire in the coming years. We will play our part in helping to address the shortage of good-quality affordable housing in the region.

Our housing association was formed in December 2022, through a merger between Leeds & Yorkshire Housing Association and York Housing Association and we’re a subsidiary of Karbon Homes Group.

Our Board plays an integral role in setting our strategic direction, shaping our future and it makes a meaningful impact in communities throughout Yorkshire.

We’re seeking a Board Chair who shares our commitment to providing good quality homes and services for our customers. We’re looking for an experienced professional with a successful career in social housing or a comparable sector.

The postholder will play a pivotal role in ensuring our success and compliance in meeting our regulatory and legal obligations. We’re looking for someone who is an established non executive director; experience of previous committee chair or board chair roles is desirable but not essential.

If you’re passionate about driving social impact and want to influence our future, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re committed to diversity and inclusion and encourage applications from individuals from all backgrounds, including those with lived experience in social housing.

If you require a confidential discussion, please contact our advising consultants at GatenbySanderson: Nick Roberts on 07393 013697 or Chantelle Harris on 07384 460191.

We’re also seeking a Board Member with housing development and/or development funding expertise. Information on this and other roles available with the Karbon Group can also be found at https://join-karbonhomesgroup.co.uk/
