Description

Make a difference as a Trustee with the Karbon Foundation

We’re seeking two passionate and experienced professionals to join us as Trustees at the newly formed Karbon Foundation. The foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) within the wider Karbon Group, which includes Karbon Homes, 54North Homes, Leazes Homes and Graphite Homes.

The Karbon Foundation is dedicated to creating lasting social impact by addressing key challenges faced by individuals and communities. The mission of the foundation is to empower people to lead more secure, connected and fulfilling lives through targeted support and inclusive opportunities. As part of the Karbon Group, the Foundation benefits from the Group’s extensive experience, governance and reputation in housing and community support across the North East and Yorkshire.

About the role

Trustees at the Karbon Foundation play a key role in our success and we’re looking for two exceptional candidates to join us as Trustees, contributing their insight and experience.

These are key roles, responsible for leading the foundation at a non-executive, strategic level, and we’re looking for experienced professionals ideally with a background in community focused organisations such as ours.

We welcome individuals who can offer fresh perspectives, strategic thinking and a commitment to delivering high quality services, with a passion for making a positive impact. We are particularly looking to appoint Trustees with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Finance (ideally a qualified accountant).
  • Senior level leadership experience gained within a charity or a comparable community support organisation.
  • Trusts, grants and funding.

We’re committed to diversity and inclusion and encourage applications from individuals from all backgrounds, including those with lived experience in social housing.

Key terms

  • Trustees are appointed for a three-year term, with renewal to a maximum of six years.
  • Trustee roles are voluntary, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
  • Trustees are expected to attend four Board meeting annually, as well as annual strategy and training days.
  • Committee attendance and occasional support through working groups or support to our Executive Team may also be required.
